Neyers Vineyards 2015 Left Bank Red

Neyers Vineyards 2015 Left Bank Red

Napa Valley, California, United States

$75

Bruce and Barbara Neyers launched Neyers Vineyards in 1992 and recruited winemaker Tadeo Borchardt to the project in 2004. A shared admiration for the elegance of traditionally produced European wines informs the grape growing and winemaking practices. Hence the name of the Left Bank Red works on different levels. It refers to the location on the estate where the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is grown, the left bank of the Conn Creek in Napa, California. But it also references the classic Merlot driven style of St. Emilion and Pomerol red wines, from Bordeaux’s so-called Left Bank. There’s a lot to like about this enjoyable bright and refreshing red blend. It’s supple texture and elegant frame offers a different take on the Napa Valley, while still offering generosity, complexity and notable length. Considering the Napa Valley address and quality in the bottle, this is a solid value red to drink now or over the next decade.
