Watching Tree is the new name for the Oliveira Vineyard in Beamsville, which has long been the source of chardonnay for Trius’ premium Showcase series. As always this is expressive and rich, with attractive lemon, apple and pear notes, earthy/leesy complexity and an attractive creamy texture. At three years of age, this is still tightly knit and bright. Certainly, one that will mature gracefully in the cellar. 600 cases. Drink now to 2026. (90/100)
